Canon VIXIA HF10 Flash Memory Camcorder Review

I have a long history of buying Canon camcorders, so when my current camcorder became too old to bother with, I didn’t hesitate when it came time to order the Canon VIXIA HF10.

As the proud parent of a little league baseball player, I am often tasked with recording the games. I used to record the games on tapes, but it became a huge hassle. With the VIXIA HF10, I can record in AVC, which produces much a much higher quality picture than my old camcorder. The difference is unbelievable! I can capture detail with the VIXIA I could never get with my old camcorder. And because it uses flash memory, I can easily load the video onto my computer and upload it to the Internet. I can also easily burn the video to DVDs and distribute to other parents.

One feature I didn’t realize this camcorder had before I bought it is that it can also take pictures. It only has 3.3 megapixels, but that’s not bad at all for a camcorder. It also has an LCD and image stabilization. When my mates saw my new Canon camcorder, they were duly impressed. It’s available at any retail outlet, but I got mine at Amazon because the price is quite a bit less there and there are no tax or shipping charges.
