Fujifilm Finepix S1000fd Digital Camera Review

I haven’t owned the Fuji Finepix S1000fd for very long, but all the positive reviews I read about this digital camera have proven to be true. This digital camera takes bright, vibrant pictures both in and outside, and considering its price, I was surprised Fuji was able to fit in a 12x optical zoom. I absolutely love the zoom. It is my favorite feature of this camera. I was able to take a picture of my baby cousin zoomed in from across the room, the picture that resulted was crystal-clear.

Nikon D300 DX Digital SLR Camera Review

The Nikon D300 DX is revolutionary. It’s that good. I thought about switching to Canon, but after trying the D300 out at a local photo store, I was hooked. Compared to my old SLR, the D300 is much better at rendering colors. Even when photographing offbeat colors with more natural ones like human skin, I get great results. The controls on this camera are so easy to use I didn’t need to read the manual. I was honestly shocked at how easily I could find my way around the camera’s user interface.

Nikon added a number of new features to the D300. These include a multi-level zom, a high-pixel LCD that is very bright and vibrant, and more. This is hands-down the best DSLR I’ve owned. If you’re in the markt for an SLR, look into getting a D300. You won’t be unhappy.

Nikon Coolpix S550 Digital Camera Review

I bought the Nikon Coolpix S550 because I wanted something compact with a decent number of megapixels and a good zoom, features my old digital camera lacked. I did not regret my purchase. This camera is very sturdy, simple to use, and most importantly, great looking. I always get complements about its good looks everywhere I go.

The pictures produced by the camera are very good. They are sharp, clear, and there is minimal shutter lag. A few of the modes are a little hard to find, but I should probably look in the manual to see where they are. Everything considered, I’m very happy with my purchase of the Nikon CoolPix S550.

Canon VIXIA HF10 Flash Memory Camcorder Review

I have a long history of buying Canon camcorders, so when my current camcorder became too old to bother with, I didn’t hesitate when it came time to order the Canon VIXIA HF10.

Nikon D40 6.1MP Digital SLR Camera Kit Review

The Nikon D40 is an ergonomical, solid, and fast SLR camera full of features. The LCD, which is 2.5”, is very bright and vivid. It is equivalent to the screens found on much more expensive cameras. Some may not like the fact that this camera only has 6 megapixels, but when buying a digital camera, you need to pay attention to more than megapixels. This is an SLR camera, meaning it has a better lens and sensor than your typical point-and-shot model. It produces the highest quality photos, and I’d pick it over a 10 megapixel point-and-shoot any day.
The Nikkor lens that comes with this Nikon D40 is superb. Sharp and responsive, distortion is minimal.  This is a good everyday lens. The other features this camera has are nice, too. They include red-eye reductation, D-lighting, trimming, and a new and improved user interface.

Canon PowerShot A650IS Digital Camera Review

I’m a pro photographer whose owned more than a few cameras. I own an SLR with several lenses, but it is too big to carry around sometimes. When I need a smaller camera, the PowerShot A710IS is my choice. It has great quality considering its small size, and Canon has recently updated it significantly. They improved the flash, added a LCD that can flip out and rotate, and added compatibility with SD-SDHC memory cards.  This Canon is by far the best compact camera on the market now. It’s the best purchase I’ve made this year. This camera is that good.

Canon PowerShot A580 Digital Camera Review

Even beginner photographers can take good-looking photographs with the Canon PowerShot A580. This camera features an 8 megapixel sensor, a 4x optical zoom, and a 2.5” LCD. Taking pictures with this camera is very easy, and with 8 megapixels and a 4x zoom, it can take pictures so good you’d think you had a professional photographer in the house. The Easy Mode and face detection features found on this camera are very easy. My aunt, who is 85-years-old, has never been able to work a camera beyond its basic features. She has declared, however, that she has no problems working the PowerShot A580. If she can use it and is happy with it, you’ll probably have no problems with it. Sony Cybershot DSCW120/B Digital Camera Review

The Sony Cybershot DSCW120/B is perfect for me. The quality of this camera is as good as you can get for the size of the camera. Unlike other digital cameras I’ve owned, the interface on this one is simple to use. I can quickly access a wide variety of features my old camera didn’t have. These include ISO, red-eye reduction, and various picture modes (night, landscape, portrait, sports, etc.) The pictures I get from this Sony are sharp and vivid as can be. The color is realistic, and not fake or overdone. I’ve been buying Sony products for years, and the Cybershot DSCW120/B is just one of many good products made by the Japanese company.

Sony Cybershot DSCS730 Digital Camera Review

The Sony Cybershot DSCS730 is the ninth camera I have owned over a twenty-five year period. I used to have a Kodak, but I was unhappy with its durability so I bought this Sony. I am absolutely ecstatic about this camera. My favorite thing about it is that it uses AA batteries instead of the expensive propriety batteries you find in many digital cameras these days. As a heavy traveler, that means I can find batteries for this thing anywhere I go, though I plan on using rechargeable AA batteries for it nonetheless.

Olympus SP-570UZ Digital Camera Review

I bought the Olympus SP-570UZ  early in June at Amazon.com. I have recently become interested in photography, and my old camera just wasn’t cutting it, so I decided to upgrade. I couldn’t afford a $800 SLR, so I opted for this digicam. Having 10 megapixels means I can blow up my photos to large sizes, which is a plus, too. Overall, I am very happy with it. Read more…
